So far, there is only provided whatever's in the list Alexia, though with experimentation you might be able to add new textures. I believe it's the Z function in prop edit which will flatten your image if you find one in 3D you like. I used the Rude Sky and flattened it makign it into a mural in my QA Penthouse.

Yeah right! ;d

By the way s0phie, are you sure you want people to use the link to guide people to the current corrupted, incomplete and wrong version of the Prop Editor Guide?:d

Sylvia, have you looked at the prop-edit guide lately? They have updated it and now it is fairly useful.

I use pictranslucent not the sign....The problem is that it has borders....so is there a way for the border not showing up???? lol.

Whilst I found the guidance above pointed me in the right direction, I actually found the instructions are incorrect.

This is how I made a rug for the floor.

The following worked for me after several failed attempts:-

1. Add new prop 'Sign-01' - make sure you are on the side of the frame that has a grey matt surface (not the transparent side)

2. Go to State and click the Advanced box, then select Script 'Cached Web Image'

3. Go to your Photobucket page (or similar site) and copy the Direct Link (not the HTML code, as stated above - that will not work.) of your chosen image. IMPORTANT - Hit 'enter' on your keyboard and image should appear in the frame. If it does not, try another image. (I found this a bit hit and miss)

4. Copy the Direct Link code (this will be in the format 'http:// .................jpg'Wink into the Image URL box (note: Annoyingly, right clicking with your mouse will not bring up the 'paste' option >Sad -- you have to delete any text in the box and then use 'Ctrl v' to paste the link)

5. Rotate the prop 270 degrees in the 'X' axis. (tip - rotating 90 degrees shows the invisible side)

6. Place the prop on the floor using Ctrl + mouse wheel

7. Scale to the size you require using the 'X' and 'Y' axis only (leave 'Z' at scale '1'Wink

8. Reposition on the floor, then 'Save and Release'.

9. Close Prop Editor and reload before next task (to avoid booting problems Sad )

Note: If you want to make your object brighter by checking the 'unlit' box (this always seems back to front to me :Smile ) you will have to uncheck the Advanced box first, to get to the 'unlit' option. Hopefully they will fix this at some point so that 'Collidable' and 'Unlit' are included in the Advanced options.

If you make the object very large, you seem to lose the ability to right click with the mouse to move the object. If this happens, use the 'List all props' button and find the relevant 'Sign_01' on the alphabetical list of your props.

Looked read and simply followed the instructions, why didn't you?

Its still not very useful, since the Guide is not for the program we use.
There are also a lot of items and scripts missing.
We still get booted when we select certain items or scripts as well.

Want a few examples? Here ya go Wink

_______________________________________________________________________

Carrying Wine or Beer that can be Picked up:

-Create and Place wineglass.gml or beerglass.gml on any surface that is about bar height..
-Under Script tab select PickupObject
________________________________________________________________________

>>> missing script.
________________________________________________________________________

Creating a Sex Bot

-Search for and create the dummy.gml prop. It will be a tiny green or orange square (animations are attached to it and it will be invisible when used). Move the square so that it is touching the floor where SexBot should stand.
-Set Script for “CreateNPCSexBotNudeScript”
_________________________________________________________________________

>>> missing script
_________________________________________________________________________

Setting up Doors and Other Transports

--Get the coordinates and location of exit point of transport by:
i. Move avatar to region and position where transport should ‘exit’. Note the region name (click on the ‘dimensions’ button if necessary).
ii. press F2 (this button toggles on and off) and note the Position Numbers: X: Y: Z: and yaw:
-move avatar to the area where transport start point is desired.
-create and place an object (usually a door or a trigger) to start transport.
-Set Script to “MoveToRegion”.
__________________________________________________________________________

>>> missing script
__________________________________________________________________________

Setting up a Sign or Poster

-Search for sign_01 and Create it.
-Flip it around so that the grey/blank side (rather than the clear side) is facing out, size and place as desired.
-Set Script to "CachedWebLoadImage". In the parameter field enter the Exact Link to the image (include http:// and always end in .jpg or .png).
-Check the File Caching option.
-Under State, check "Unlit" to add brightness if desired. Size if needed.
-Create and search for sign_1.gml prop. Size and Place as desired.
-Set Script tab to “WebLoadImage” and State tab to check ‘textures unlit.’
-Use webpage information to set the Parameters:

Example (“Gentleman’s Club” sign outside NightCandy). With site: http://repository.redlig...eet/sign_nightcandy1.jpg
Break it up into:
File Name: sign_nightcandy1.jpg
Directory: /repository/textures/rlc/street/
File URL: repository.redlightcenter.com (note http:// is optional).

How to Create Butterflies and Free-Reign Sea Creatures

-have “Advanced” checked (upper right of Prop Editing Window)
-search for and create the desired creature. Note its animation file (from above list).
-Script Tab: MoveWithinBoundingBox

-this script creates a 3D box for the prop creature to move around in. Set the size of this box with the first 3 Parameters. Parameter 1: X, Parameter 2: Y, and Parameter 3: Z. Place the prop creature in the center of this box, or let it move around and adjust size as desired.

-the fourth parameter (Param4) is the speed of the prop as it moves around the box. 350 is an average speed.

-the fifth parameter (Param5) is the Speed Jitter. It defaults to 0 but can be adjusted as desired.

-the last parameter (Param6), is the Turn Rate and determines how fast the prop moves when it changes direction. 7 is a good default setting

Adding animation:

-to add the animation to the creature as it moves in the box, enter the animation file name in the empty field of the State tab (it is located at the very top and looks like State:__________).

_________________________________________________________________________________

>>> " enter the animation file name in the empty what?" .....and have a dead moving butterfly within a 1 foot box?
This doesn't need further comment, total crap.

Applause Xaoz? this is almost half of the instructions Advanced prop editing and I didn't even check all of them.

Next time you try to defend something or someone at least try to make sense.
Update my ass, political disaster and trying to fool people thats what happens, and the worse part.. people like you even play along.

Well Sylvia, when I applied even a small amount of intuitive intelligence to the guide I found it very useful, the State:___________) was obvious to me the blank box at the top of the state tab.

Yes there are missing scripts, and I like you would like to have them, but we don't yet, so we have to accept that until they decide to add them.

They changed the wording of the Prop Edit concerning the Signs yet again, so the guide is behind on that once again, but when I posted my original comment it matched what was in the prop editor exactly and you could easily use those instructions to create a picture in your Zaby.

The Creature animation does work, though for some reason I have yet to fathom everything I make goes backwards; but my butterfly's flap their wings and fly around the room and my fish swim in their aquarium the way that they should and I made them by following the instructions from that guide that you hate so much.

Just wanted to say, excellent instructions. You made a job that seemed overwhelming extremely easy just by following the instructions.

Thanx. Applause

You can apply the CacheWebLoadImage script directly to the walls (the ones you place yourself). I put the script (and my images) directly on walls which I place in front of the default walls for custom wallpaper. I also (and this is naughty) hotlink art from other art web sites, so i don't have to bother uploading them to Photobucket.
