Is there a way to stream your Shoutcast station on your profile? I got an embed code and have the player on the profile, but it doesn't seem to be working.

What kind of embed code do you have ? I think you need html codes to embed into the profiles, if you were to share your code I feel confident that one of the forum members with a tech brain will be able to help Smile

The code I'm currently using is:

<audio src="http://51.178.26.150:18024/;" controls autoplay></audio>

When I view my profile like anyone else would see it, the player is there, but it doesn't play, and it won't even let you click on it to get it to start.

whereas

http://176.31.107.8:8446/stream

a shoutcast stream works fine in chrome and other browsers

server is up 176.31.107.8

but nothing so far on the :18024 port

I don't get it I got the same code in 3 other places, and it works everywhere else, but it won't work on the profile, which is at http://www.utherverse.com/DJ_InsaNITYDRKHF

It still seems it is a Chrome issue putting that code in about me on profile worked fine with edge browser for a minute but then failed.

i noticed other DJ's seem to have same issue on profiles. i think it has something to do with SSL certs and https:// being supported or not on the shoutcast servers. i will look at it more later or someone else may solve the mystery


Edit to add i solved the edge problem by adding the explicit mp3 format

Works with Edge and testing it on the SiTV profile

Definately IMO it is a SSL issues when you add the s to http not secure and chrome rejects it/won't resolve

If you get the stream provider to make https work, get the domain/IP to support SSL pretty sure that will solve it

I'd still like to know if there's a fix for this. in the meantime, I've posted a Listen Live image and linked it right to the stream. All they have to do is click on it.

That is a wonderful WordPress widget DJ on your profile, you utilized it's features very creatively also. Not sure but for me at least using chrome i am not able to hear your stream and again your player does play fine when viewing your profile with the Edge browser.

Hope you are able to get around what is going on in Chrome but between UV's certs and Chrome standards on encrtcpted data. i am still thinking the stream ip/domain needs to be SSL/https.

Your domain to your WordPress/Widget is indeed Https allowing the player to function on your profile in Chrome but your icecast stream addy itself http://62.75.216.131:8011/live? is not SSL.

If that is your server you could create a subdomain on your WP website and assign the 62.75.216.131 ip to it making the streaming server SSL also.

Just hoping the dj profile streams in Chrome not working i found gets resolved. i could not find any of them that are working in Chrome. Hope someone has one that is and if their stream addy is https.

If you just want a simple, lightweight, basic player to handle ShoutCAST streams...

I made this one a few years back. It handles ShoutCAST fine, by does occasionally have issues with some versions of Icecast streams.

Just saying it seems to me that with Chrome and UV Certs on profile no matter which player or code used not working.

Maybe latter today i will set a dj streaming server up add SSL to it so the stream addy can use https and see if it plays on profile in Chrome

Rather than set one up i decided to try a shoutcast that is SSL/https

Testing the above code on SiTV profile

There is a quirk with autoplay that needs some fiddling with, but in Chrome with UV certs on our profiles (a good thing) i can hear the stream.

Admins or root users can set their streaming services/servers up to do SSL/https

There is free ways to do it without having to purchace certs or a domain name. If you already have a domain you can add a subdomain and create cname records to the server ip.
