Hello Gez :-)

Takes some time but You can keep Your textures this way:

Download the textures from PB, look for some site where you can upload pictures (like Pixnator for example), upload there and than embed the texture again using cached web image script. Done :-)

Those Photobucket watermarks are a pain but you can do it yourself very easy just use another hosting site transfer the watermarks links to it if the Photobucket link has this on it ~original you either delete it or leave it and still transfer the link to the new hosting site take your time no rush especially when the zaby has a ton of props with watermarks on them .

Hi Loving Smile

I believe if you purchased a property that was messed up by the Photobucket debacle, and soon their other company... You have the rights to re-host the pics to fix it. YOU DO NOT have the rights to re-sell, share, or give away though.

Before saving the textures to your computer, make sure you are using Google Chrome as your browser.

When I fixed one of my layouts that was a collaborative effort the other designers had left RLC before the PB issue. I used their link, put it in my browser and it still showed the PB watermark

I figured I'd save it anyway to my computer to see what would happen and it saved without the watermark.

The only thing I did was fix any sizing issues and optimize the texture before uploading to smugmug and reapplying the texture.

I use firefox as my browser, and it worked fine for texture retrieval.

I've fixed 20 properties so far with no problem. But I do have an important one where the damn watermark will not go at all no matter what I do. Blasted PB want fucking over for all this work. They should have restricted it to new users only. I hope they go under as a result. It's blackmail and extortion pure and simple.

I'd rather give money to charity than give in to those shysters! No way do I accept or condone people who extort money, give it free, then lock down the images and in some cases break them then demand money. It's very similar to the people who lock computers then demand money to free them again. No way, they can go to hell! I'd rather lose the images than pay them. I got most of mine linked to my own server now, meanwhile the original images can sit on their server for ever more, taking up space I refuse to pay for.

I agree with Rieder ,I use post image myself but I also know everything is not for free, a business can't survive giving everything away for free, I wish they hosted SWF files that would be great it's hard to find a good SWF file hoster in world lately ,the utherbucket only good for png and jpegs, the Photobucket had it's time on rlc most have licked their wounds and moved on from it, I just posted that so people could see what they charge now that whole 400 dollars a year thing they once had did not last very long lol but there are lots of other options other than Photobucket.

I hosted .swf for free here;

https://www.webs.com/

Interface is a little arcane but what the hell, it's free.

for 10 can pay for a month. you can download entire folders from pbucket. download them all. Imgur is still free. I prefer smugmug for 10 per month because of the super resolution it provides. but after y0u download from pbucket end the account. I had been doin deco for 5 yrs. i got every pic i ever used. takes time. but you can replace all the pics in your deco.

you can do what many have done and make your own host. IF you are not selling properties and just using the textures on your own this should be easy there are many FREE options for an in home storage server. here is guide that may be of some help and free software. i do know some routers today come with the ability to add on storage server service.
