When I try to add textures to my Myinfo.ini file or do any changes at all,my system ( Vista) will not let me save or change the file . Does anyone know the answer to this problem.

in Vista, open ini files in Notepad, modify then save file.
Don't click file to open, Vista run the file with another program.
Right click and choose open with, then select Notepad.

The easiest approach is to do all editing with RLC completely closed, than after saving reopen RLC. There are ways to disable Vista's protection schemes, but this is the easiest approach.

Better option is to go into control panel > user accounts and select "Turn User Account Control On or Off" and Turn it Off, it's a bothersome added security measure that's really only of help protecting complete newcomers to computers.

You'll have to reboot but on the plus side, no more pesky "are you sure you want to run this program" boxes from windows.

Then you'll have no problems editing myinfo.ini files or even saving textures. (It was happening to me)

lol, fine with me, as long as it gets fixed. Tongue

Not being a Vista user myself, I can only go by what others have told me that works, and the methods described early in Vista's run were far from that easy.

Good for you Steph. Tongue

Let's try this again ;d

simple solution without compromising your entire system...

Access your C drive
click on "program files"
then "RedlightCenter"
then right click on myinfo" file
when it opens go to the properties listing when the small window box opens, click on "security" , inside the box will list a "users" listing, highlight it,
below the box lists "To change permissions click "Edit". Click it. once the new window opens select "users" again, in the lower window will be a list of file permissions, click on every box except "special permissions" then click on "ok", click out oft he last box "ok", now you can adjust your myinfo. file within notebook without compromising your whole system.
