I've seen the gorgeous backgrounds, the special effects, the graphics.... I've clicked on the links... and I'm stuck.

I tried "Pimp My Profile" and got 53 spyware programs on My machine... and no closer to creating a nice layout.  I tried the MySpace graphics areas, the freewarez, Funerella, and none of them give any info on HOW to upload and alter profile layouts and backgrounds.  Closest I got was Funerella's page that told me to "cut and paste thyis into the "About Me" area. I did so and got an error message saying I couldn't do that.

So how is it done? Which areas do I use?

you paste the code into "About Me" under my profile.

How do you make the main table transparent so you can see the background picture? I have tried to change opacity etc and nothing works. I want the picture to show through! Thanks for any help. Please point out the code string that control this!
