I'm trying apply the layout in this link to my personal profile: jwood37. I'm following the directions that they are giving but I can't seem to get it to work. The pics don't show up. The send message and add as friends buttons disappear. Anyone have any ideas how to make it work? Have no fear, it is not your fault.
After checking the code out, I noticed the background image no longer exists.
And while yes, our profiles take the same code as MySpace, however you will occasionally find that there are some slight differences in the way it handles the code. So if you have one of these layouts that maybe start getting a little too complex in the way it makes things work, you will notice "missing" items, or misplaced ones.
When working with these layouts, my suggestion would be keep trying them until one works the way you want it. Almost all of these backgrounds are hosted on free accounts, so they may be deleted at any moment. Just keep trying different ones til you get it right.

A little extra tip is try and understand the .css language. Most layouts work from this. As html4 now is a static dead language most use css for positioning. Perhaps google a few tutorial sites for webmasters and try and understand the basics of .css.
