So I am confused about the different layers for dressing my avi. Below is for a skin I have, just the head. If I only want the skin and not the included makeup and other sections, and want to keep the makeup I am already wearing, which one is best to select?

Head
SKIN (Clothing)

SKIN (Sex Clothing)

I also find it difficult to pick which ones for torso and legs, lol. Thanks!

Makeup is most commonly put on the Head/Skin/SexClothing layer.

Most common usage:
Head/Skin/Skin = Skin
Head/Skin/Tattoo/ = Tattoo
Head/Skin/SexClothing = Makeup
Head/Skin/Clothing = Hair Bangs Etc.

Find a full outfit. Notice there are checkmarks next to each item. For each one you remove that item will NOT be applied. With that said experiment on your avi until you learn which layers are what. BEWARE do this in your zaby as you may end up nekkid in public..Woot
You can also remove items and replace them with an item from another outfit. I.e. you want a skirt with a given top but they are not in same outfit. You would uncheck torso in first outfit. Then find the outfit with the skirt you want. Now uncheck everything you dont want applied but leave the torso item you want checked next press apply. Voila you just customized your outfit. Next save it in a slot so you dont have to keep sorting through it.
