Good morning everybody!

I am experiencing a frustrating problem when trying to post bulletins that I have coded in HTML.

Now: PLEASE be patient and kind with me as I have just enough HTML coding knowledge to fill a thimble!Grin

The problem occurs during copy and paste from Windows Notepad. When I attempt to paste the coded bulletin into the body window, something causes the lines of my code to separate, apparently at random. If I simply submit the code as is, I end up with a bulletin that looks God awful, so I have to go through the body of the bulletin I am trying to create and carefully remove all of the extraneous, empty lines so the code is compacted once more. This happens whether I select 'Paste' OR 'Paste as Plain Text'. Would someone be so kind as to explain to this ignorant one what is the cause of this phenomenon AND what can I do to keep it from happening? It really adds a lot of work to the posting of a bulletin, as you might imagine!

As always, I am grateful to you all for whatever assistance you can provide in helping me solve this problem.Smile

Gratefully,
Fancy

Would you mind showing us the code? It would make it alot easier to help you if we could see it.
Laz.

What Laz said. It could be anything really.

You can put it into Code tags on the forums so they don't try to process the html code.

Code:
<p>This is a code box.  <br />
The icon is above, just to the left of the Insert Image icon.

Thank you all for the replies, but I think I have figured out what my problem was. In Notepad, I had word wrap enabled during the copy/paste cycle. Once I disabled word wrap, the problem with the extra empty lines and spaces disappeared. I surmise that Notepad was unintentionally putting them in 'cause that's what it thought it wanted!

Thanks once again! I appreciate your efforts to help!
