Hi,

Cpanel file manager won't upload the assets directory or any directory. Upload index, reset and style files should go into the public_html (assumnig this is a primary and not sub domain). Then create a directory named assets in the public_html. Upload the contents of the local assets folder into the new assets directory you just created.

Now check your domain, did it work?

If you havnt done so you'll also need to point the download link in the index page to your affiliate address and there's a "insert logo" pic to customize also.

Consider using filezilla and an ftp account. Much easier.

Good Luck.

Post domain here if you still have trouble

It looks like the you got the Domain name from Wix. If this is correct then you will need to point your domain to hostgator servers.

I had a quick look on the hostgator support site but it's very different to how i've done it in the past.

Hopefully youve received an email from hostgator though listing nameservers...usually 2 of them.

Assuming the name is from Wix then there should be a nameserver/dns/domain section where you can enter them. It may take 24 hours for this to propogate.

Also possible I'm taking you in the wrong direction:D

When you host your own site/online space then support ends as long as its up and running unless youre paying a premium. You are your own support.

keep posting if were not on the right track pls

The landing page should be fine. Your domain needs to be pointing to it though. If you have nameservers from hostgator, there should be somewhere to enter them in your namesilo account. This should be your next step. There may still be some things you need to do in your hostgatorcpanel.

Wix don't allow you to export sites to another host

Once the landing page is showing on your domain then there is a small piece of code to change but thats for later.

It looks like your domain is pointing to your server now so anyone can see your content. If you add the index page (the affiliate landing page)then that will be displayed instead of your directory listing. No coding required yet

To point the download button to your affiliate link...

Login into your affiliate account/promotional materials page. You'll see your unique link

Download and install notepad++
notepad++

On your computer, right click the index file and open in notepad++

Replace the # with your affiliate link.

Save changes to the page. Upload this page to your server replacing the original index page.

Changing the "Your logo here" picture

In notepad++ you'll notice this line...

The easiest way to get you own logo there is to replace the image on the server in the assets directory, just make sure it's named temp_logo.png . The file must be .png format and if you don't want to much weirdness then keep the size 309x81 px.

The other way would be to use you own filename and change the line(26) in the index to reflect this.

The default index page is still on your server, not the new one. Either it wasn't saved correctly or the original need to be deleted or overwritten.

When you save it from Notepad++ it should be named "index" and type "Hyper Text Markup Language". This will ensure whoever goes to your domain loads the page.

Oh, there is no downloadSmile But it will send a new user to the sign up page and you will be registered as sending them there.

No, that's right.

Other people wont see your home page. A new member won't be logged in so they will be taken to the signup page. If you are already a member then you will see your own homepage. Sounds like its working just fine.

EDIT--

This is from your landing page---

to get credit for hosting the page and people clicking the link it should look like this...

<a href="http://www.utherverse.com/?trq=XXXXXX"><img src="assets/downloadBtn.png" alt=""></a><br>

the trq=XXXXXX is unique to you and can be found in the Affiliate/promotional materials section
