does anybody know whether there is a way to exclude certain forum sections (ideally) or threads from this view so that one does not see new posts from these sections/threads among the five most recent posts?

I use Vancouver and there you have the options to hide signatures and threads and posts as well as ignore members.

This is also in the SUPER List in the Miscellaneous Section.

You shouldn't get an error message. What browser are you using for installation?

If using Firefox make sure you install the grease monkey add-on.

If using Chrome make sure you install grease kit.

This script requires the Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Opera web browser.
If using Firefox, you will need to install the Grease Monkey add-on.
If using Safari, you will need to install Grease Kit.

Should be safari not Chrome. . .my error there.

I do not think Chrome requires anything extra. The error may be your AV causing it.

If you're using Chrome, there are some issues. Some versions of Chrome don't support the "Local Storage" feature. However, Chrome has recently changed their extension policy and they no longer allow you to use extension not downloaded from the Chrome Web Store.

Edit: Now available in the Chrome Web Store. Link: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/utherverse-forums-ignore/kajpoloplmadegdffijkmglbfhonjcdf


Of course, this extension will only allow you to ignore posts/threads by specific people.

As far as I know, there is no way to change what you see in the "Active Discussions" list. That is produced on the server when the page is loaded, so there's no way to change that info.
