Since the Social Center was recently updated and I had to upgrade my VIP anyway I thought this would be a good to take some screen shots while I was at it. Although I've been using the Trader Account for my VIP for well over a year now it's not my invention. I learned it with help from my friends and the awesome people on this forum.


step
1. BEFORE your VIP runs out have the funds in your trader account. You need a little more than $20, I like to have around $22 just to be safe. Click "Buy/Sell Marketplace" on your main Social Center Page:



2. Once in the Marketplace you will need to sell at least 300 rays (although you'll get 20 back later) but like I said earlier its probably a good idea to sell more, I usually go with 314, which is around $22:



3. Return to your Social Center page and you'll see you now have $22 in your Trader Account. As the "$" sign indicates, this is real world money, which is what your Trader Account holds. NOTE: Everything upto and including step 3 MUST be done before your VIP expires, you can only sell rays while you are VIP.



4. Once you have the funds in your trader account you are safe. The rest can be done before, or after your VIP expires, its up to you. Now for the actual upgrade, to proceed, click "Buy/Sell Marketplace" on your main Social Center Page, same as step 1. Once there click "Withdraw":




5. This will bring you to the "Withdraw Funds From Your Trader Account" page click the "Buy VIP" button:




6. Once there you'll see options for standard or universal VIP, who its for, enter your PIN, make sure everything is ok, then when you're ready, click "Buy Now".




7. You should then get a screen saying thankyou...




8. Return to you main Home page of your social center and if all went well you'll see the yellow ribbon indicating you are now a VIP member. Smile





Just to reiterate, you MUST perform steps 1, 2, and 3 BEFORE your current VIP runs out. This information was gotten from other forum members who were using the Trader Account long before me and who I'm very grateful too.

Nice post. If you have $20.03 or so, just a few cents, it will work. I usually go for about 298 rays. The few cents left in from last time makes it work and I end up with something like $20.06. Can I just reiterate that if the $20 are already in the account then you can put through the VIP from Basic. Also, this method is cheaper for those in Australia as they pay $30 via CC but through the MP it is only $20 for Standard VIP.
NOTE: My nick and image are from a company. That company allows people to use them both as long as they get permission and a licence. I have that and a certificate to prove it.

Hello The_Black_Reider, I would like to know if I can use the rays that I have in my account now for the ultra vip and or the reguler vip I have like 30.00 to 31.00 in my account now? Or do I still need to have the 298 in my account in order to get either one? Thanks in advance.

You already have enough dollars and like the post above you can change it to UVIP instead of VIP. With $30 in you can either take VIP and leave $10 in your balance for next time or UVIP and use the whole $30, best to have a few cents on top too as below. For those who haven't sold the rays yet and want UVIP instead of VIP here is how to proceed;

446 rays x 0.070 = $31.22 - $1.22 (fee) = $30.00 balance

But this works better, a little over the amount;

447 rays x 0.070 = $31.29 - $1.22 (fee) = $30.07 balance

So....

298 rays for VIP - 20 you get back for a renewal = 278 rays

447 rays for UVIP - 20 you get back for a renewal = 427 rays

well, this topic touches what I am thinking about too actually. I hope no one mind me asking my question here, since it is not exactly what this thread is about.

What, if I'd like to buy me VIP with my rays, but not just for a month, I think about buying an entire year membership. Is that possible? Can it ever be done that way?

And if it can be done that way, how many rays would I need to sell on market place?

I've been thinking of the exact same thing. My UVIP subscription currently renews on an annual basis.
The amount for a credit card transaction for an annual subscription is $305.90 (US).
An annual UVIP web gift is 4550 rays + 5 rays for the card that goes with it.

Does anyone know if annual subscriptions can be made using the marketplace?
If this is possible, how many rays would need to be traded?
Would I need to trade in enough rays to get $305.90 or would it require more/less rays to be traded?

Any suggestions/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

When factoring it the Broker Fee to your Ray sale a .070 sale is actually a .0673.

UVIP Gift 4550 Rays

Trader Sell 4550 x .0673 = 306.21

UVIP 1 yr with Credit Card = 305.99

Just buy the gift.

I rechecked with my special Ray Calculator I programmed years ago.

It got 12.42 commission based on 4550 x 0.070 = 318.5
Leaving 306.08

I then did things manually, albeit using a calculator
The commission UV/RLC base on 3.9% of the dollars derived from the sale of the rays;

4550 x 0.070 =318.5
318.5 / 3.9% = 12.42
318.5 - 12.42 = 306.08
