I love the Zaby How to section, it has helped so much and most everything is answered there but couldn't figure these out.

1) I am struggling on what prop maps to use to make these pics 3d. Generic box? Cube? I've got the texturing down just not sure about the prop maps.

2) I am trying to do a tuscany themed home but what would I use to give a background/surrounding like this. Skybox?

Thank you so much for your help!!

I would try the generic box. Just make sure you properly place it on the gen box prop map in your graphics editor.

Regarding the sky prop, I would try the following to see which works best:

Beach sky
Hotel Sky
Sky 10
Sky sphere

Good luck with your project. If you need assistance, send me a pm.

For the sky you can use the Moon prop, as well.

For the furniture, it depends on how you want the finished product to look. Do you want the decorative legs? Then cut the cabinet part out of the picture and put it on a generic box. Choose the table prop you want to use for the legs, and apply a texture to match the cabinet. Then, you can just sit the generic box on top of the table to get your finished product. You'll probably have to do some adjusting so it doesn't just look like a box sitting on a table..

If you don't want the decorative legs, you can use just a generic box or even a large or small black dresser..it has short legs on it.
Damn you, Addamant, for turning me into a forum whore! *shakes fist*

3d sign will have to make 4 signs maybe 6 each section showing a different side.then piece them together.
sky sphere will work for the picture must go really long though.. see if you can find an even higher resolution photo.. i tried the one you put up its too grainy at 12x12x24 scaling..
for the small table you could try small end table.

You can look in Marco's freebie thread,

some of his dressers / commodes are great for the style you want!

good afternoon friends,

I'm on my way back home from my vacation and would like to give you these two dressers. They fit with both contemporary and classic design. Put them on black tall dresser, downsize them to look like in the pics and set translucent at 70-100.

cheers,
Marco

The gold was perfect and it gives me an idea of how to design with other props. Gonna go do the sky now!!!
