Hello,

Photobucket has been deleting some...sexually explicit photos from my Zaby/Bucket. Is there another service that works that isn't so prudish? I'd appreciate any help or tips anyone has.

THanks!

Create another private folder in photobucket. That only you can see. Try that avenue.

Just create a private folder, BUT, if you happen to post those images as comments to someone, those images can get reported and removed..yeah, believe it or not, some ppl have nothing better to do! Happened to me a lot..
If you are just keeping them in a private album, you won`t be having issues..

btw, you can change privacy settings for existing albums (under "edit settings" ) or even add a guest password in case you want to share with someone...

Back when I used PB (April 2011), I had many images taken down (just naked avatars, not real nudity). So I asked why, because they were in private folders, and were never shared except here on the UV forums. This was the response I received:

Quote:
Your account contained images which violate our Terms of Use. These Terms apply to all
users regardless of the Public/Private setting of the account. When you created the
account, you agreed to abide by these terms and we clearly explained the consequences of
violating those terms.

Photobucket.com attempts to maintain a website that is absent of offensive, indecent or
objectionable content. That is our general policy and your images were removed in
accordance with that policy. The Photobucket.com Terms of Use, found at
http://www.photobucket.com/terms, reflect that policy by giving Photobucket the right to
remove content that, among other things, (a) it deems unlawful, obscene, harmful,
threatening, defamatory, or hateful; (b) invades the privacy of any third party; (c)
contains nudity, illustrated nudity, pornography, illustrated pornography, child erotica,
or child pornography; or (d) Photobucket deems otherwise objectionable.

How they found them, who knows! I'm guessing someone here with a grudge reported them. So if they were just for you in your private venue, they would probably be safe. But, PB might also do random checks, bc like who would have a grudge against me LOL LOL LOL LOL

So I switched to Zenfolio. They have been awesome. But the site isn't designed for image hosting, it is more for portfolios, so its a little complicated to set up properly, because you do need to make the images private, but they need to be shareable too. You do this with a Private Gallery, And Public Images inside. Here is a guide:

Another one that is more popular here and people seem to have success with is SmugMug.

PB are a buncha prudes!

Terg, my conclusion is some lame ass reports your images if posted in form of comments, banners etc..

I have to say the info I gave in my previous post might not be entirely accurate lol, I went to check my PB last night and a lot of my XXX images got deleted even tho they were not used elsewhere and are in a private album, so maybe they just want to keep it PG no matter who gets to see your pics..maybe it happened cause I got labeled as a pervy multiple offender lol? who knows...

That sucks big time, no other sites I checked were any better...
Will def give Zenfolio a try, thanks Terg!

This one is free, and provides the HTML and Direct codes to use in RLC. And it has no problems with porn pics. http://www.uploadhouse.com/
