hello everybody

I just got blender and am going through the learning process but one question is eating at me and I am trying to be patient with the learning process, lol. is it possible to create a texture and then export it as a 2d texture as either a jpg or png file for use in rlc1? if the answer is yes I would really appreciate someone pointing me to the tutorial for it.

thanks

I don't use blender myself but is this something your thinking? Can be useful for creating high poly asset such as a sci fi wall then bake it right onto a plane etc. In maya/max its simply projection mapping but as I dont use blender not sure what the terms they use for it. Lotta may know a bit better as they use blender.

thanks dragon those videos are highly informative. the first video is closer to what I will be trying to achieve. which will be a coral covered surface of a ship. the coral would be made 3d but would need to bake a heads on view of it to a plane or at least something like that. I have a textue from uvd that is just a photo of it but it doesn't apply very well to all props maybe ill have to import the map into blender and work on specific maps in there. any and all advice as well as tutorials on this would be greatly appreciated
