Hi, everyone-

I'm wondering how to upload images so they don't display the blurred and wavy patches. I've tried changing DPI, resizing to fit the 500 width, 'save for web' options, sharpening the image, and everything else I could imagine.

How can I upload something to my folders so that it's clear?

Thank you; this would be a super help for me!

Hello there Pluush_Pussy,

I dont know, if this is now some help to you, but its a try worth. First of all, most of the pictures, I ever uploaded in my folders, have once been taken from me myself or someone else but with one of my cameras then. As some example I uploaded a picture for you, I uploaded recently, its also up in my Album "Sans Souci", but for you temporarely uploaded too now in the main folder.

Have here a certain look at its details:

I hope this helps. If there are any further questions, just ask away.

Kind regards, divingA

I'll try 72 DPI the next time. I think I'm using too too many and they're smushing together or something .. this is so not my field lol

Tonight I'll do it and let you know what happened Smile

Hello again Pluush,

well, the numbers and details, I am using should never be some universally valid measurement. I just tried to leave a very first hint. The problem with the images uploaded at Utherverse is, any pictrure will be compressed unless its size is smaller than the accepted size.

What I showed you with the details of my picture was just, with what I have made so far good experiences.

Good luck, divingA

Ok, I'll let you know what happened because I feel disappointed when I help someone and they don't let me know if the process worked or not. Tonight (EST) or early in the morning I'll try.

Oh, well, I've taken these pictures at Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam, see here for details:

click here to go to uncle wikipedia's article about it

Its not that far away from me, just a hike, lets say, about half an hour by car or nearly same by using public transportation.

I've been serveral times there this year, just to take photos for my remodel of it here in RLC. The taken shots there are certainly not meant as kinda postcard shots, the most of them, I took about 700 photos there, were made to gain textures from.

Kind regards, divingA

Hi, Diving! No, that's not my photo but an image of 'dry eye' effects. It looks like that when my image is resized in the picture folders, with blurry and wavy lines on certain areas.

I'll just upload a paint that I never finished to show you.

This is uploaded to Hook's DeepErotica at 400 DPI and 'save for web' in Photoshop.

This is the same image reduced to 500 pixels, set to 72 DPI (is this important?), and 'save for web' in Photoshop to preserve most of the original color (so it doesn't darken at upload).

It's not as dramatic as the one I'm trying to upload now but you can still see the blurry lines surrounding areas of the mastodon.

EDIT: The second image blurred after being uploaded to my pics folder in the Social Center.

I've tried everything and someone volunteered to help me also, going through all save and upload settings. The smaller objects were blurred every time so I'm finished with the topic.

Thank you to everyone who tried to help!

Okay can't see the blurring lol. But since UV changes the size of images on upload, where deeperotica doesn't wouldn't that be the cause the the image blurring. Reducing an image or expanding it will cause a blurring in detail. The way around that is not have the site resize an image when you upload it.

I was laughing (not really) because I changed the size to 500 pixels to match the maximum width in the Social Center but the site kept effing with it anyway and it would blur when my original 500 image was clear. Yet, when I upload something per height (in the past) they seemed to be just fine. IDK. I'm not using the Social Center for anything I spend more than a few hours on.

LOL I changed everything to 500 repeatedly with different save and upload settings and even considered getting Lightroom for more options then thought, 'no, I'm not using my bill money for something that can change without notice'. I mean we get these settings that aren't really defined by Staff and they change them randomly enough anyway, why invest in a proggie? I'll just avoid their pics folders as much as possible and do like UV itself does-- outsource.

So I shouldn't tell you that that is a Woolly Mammoth and not a Mastodon.

Spanxx Levi,,,

EDIT the social [page changes image size to 500 x 414,,,,I would think if you use png you should not lose any detail if you make it that size ,,, I opened the 500x414 image in my paint and it was not bad ,,I still have it up in my pics,,wanted you to see it cb,,then I will delete it

I didn't want to make a new topic about this site so I'm using this one. Is anyone else having issues deleting images at this site? I check the little block to select the image, click 'delete' and nothing.

I'm using Chrome (dirty word!) and was wondering if it's exclusive to this, and maybe I should use FireFox or something else? Thank you!
