Going from a failing and very tired memory here Mrs_D, but try this.

Gimp -> Filters > Distorts > Newspriint

Change the Screen to Intensity.

Drag the Input SPI out to around 950 or so. That should make the Output SPI in the 315 range. Cell Size will go as low as 3.

In the Luminance area make sure Round is selected and drag the angle down to around -35. (Yes that's a Minus 35.)

Crank the Oversample all the way up. Seriously up. You can go all the way to 15 most likely.

Play with it around those settings and you should get pretty close to the Half-Tone Mal used in Photoshop.
Rand Has Left The Building...

...but apparently The Learning Zone and RaD Catalog get to stay open! And yes the TLZ remains Free!

See, it's not *always* a bad thing to type when one is functioning on far too little sleep. Grin

Glad we got there Dem. I'm sure bi bi or someone would have been by right away with the answer though. I just happened to get here first.

Hey Mal,

I was on your lighting tutorial and got the light creator but I couldn't grab the name to the plugin you use to remove black and white channels from an image do you have it handy?

I get so many of you asking how to do stitching, here is how I like to do it. Layer it with some layerstyles and shapes to make awesome denim.
