Hello everyone!

Next month I will be offering 3 courses at Uther Academy. The courses are as follows:

The Prop Editor from A to Z
This is an introductory class for learning how to use the prop editor to build your layouts. No previous knowledge is required. The course includes a lecture which lasts about an hour. After the lecture there is a 90-minute lab where students can play in the prop editor to get a feel for how things work. At the end of the lab there will be a written test. Students must receive a grade of at least 80 points to pass. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate from Uther Academy.

Light and Shadows: Adding Realism to your Builds
This is an intermediate class. You must already have a basic knowledge of using the prop editor. The course will cover the various types of lighting and how to apply the lighting to your properties. This course includes a 60-minute lecture followed by a 90-minute lab. Students will try various scripts to create various lighting scenarios. At the end of the lab there is a written test. Students must receive a grade of at least 80 points to pass. Upon completion of the course you will received a certificate from Uther Academy.

Creating Clothing - Learning the Basics for Creating Clothing for the Utherverse Clothing Catalog.
This course will cover the very basics of creating outfits. This course includes a 60-minute lecture followed by a 90 minute lab. Students will create clothing items as well as tattoos. At the end of the lab there is a written test. Students must receive a grade of at least 80 points to pass. Upon completion of the course, you will received a certificate from Uther Academy.

Please note that for this course you must have a good knowledge of whatever software you use (Photoshop, Gimp, etc.) for creating the textures for your outfits. Use of the software will not be included in the lecture.

IMPORTANT: The software you use must allow you to work in layers. Gimp is a great free program that allows you to work with layers.


I will be offering each of these courses 3 times during the month of April. Dates and times will be coming soon. I will post the updated information as soon as I have it.

An important note: The maximum number of students per class is 4. Pre-registration is required for each of these courses. I will post a link to a site where you can register for each of these courses. Also note that all registrations must be done at least 2 days before the scheduled class time. Two days before each class the registration will be closed.

Important Note: You must register for the course at least 2 days in advance. The cost for each course is 25 Rays. Do not pay in advance. You will be charged a 25 ray entry fee when you enter the lab area to begin your hands on practice. This will grant you 24 hour access to the lab area.

In April all courses are set to begin at 6 PM EDT. If this time is not good for you please let me know and I can try to make arrangements for other times for future course dates. Please note that all 3 courses are also available on demand for 1 to 1 courses but those courses cost 50 rays.

I would like to extend my public appreciation to Cordonocus for the outstanding class on light and shadows that he conducted. The lab session provided valuable insights into how scripts function, and the accompanying materials were excellent. The course effectively addressed numerous questions I had regarding light scripts. The tips and explanations provided will undoubtedly make a significant impact on my future decorations.

Looking forward eagerly to the stairs course, Cordonocus. I'm sure it will be fantastic. Many users on the platform have doubts about the best way to create stairs without bugs or flaws. I believe the turnout will be significant. I, for one, intend to enroll.

By the way, I found the basic clothing creation course excellent. It gave a good insight into what is necessary to understand the clothing editor.
